Hellebores and Witch Hazel

February 26, 2016

I awaken with the spring energies as the days grow longer. Yay!!! I’ve missed the light. Today, the sun is shining, heralding springtime. This morning, I awakened to the bird’s first spring song.

Since early January, I have been rejoicing in the Hellebore, Lenten and Christmas rose. They ignite an inner joy within me.  Their purple, white and green buds and green leaves pop in the snow spreading joy in the bleak winter. The beauty of the Hellebore blooming truly sings in the light with love. The Hellebore announces new beginnings, rebirth, and the return of the light in the still bleakness of winter. The flower’s stamen spirals joy to all, unwinding the pollen hearts. The joy spreads its seeds upon the light. The Hellebore is a soft sensual  beacon of love.

The Witch Hazel is also blooming, unwinding its long golden party flavors saying “Look at me!!!!”  Its bright yellow glow in the low sun looks like floating confetti and awakens the dreams within that have been  incubating all winter. The Celebration is beginning and Witch Hazel will not be left behind.  “X” MARKS THE SPOT! The celebration is here! What joy it brings!  Witch Hazel cries out “BE IN THE NOW! “
